Text Box: WE’RE POWERING DOWN! In 2007 we made some great strides promoting recycling and reuse activities. Seven companies established recycling programs in their facility and we increased the collection of recyclables in the publicly-accessible container located at the Devens DPW to more than two tons of materials per month! This year we look forward to making significant accomplishments in the area of energy conservation with our Power Down Devens Campaign. The campaign kicked off at the February workshop: Campaigning for Energy Conservation was the topic of EcoStar’s February workshop. Your organization’s utility bill can be significantly decreased just by engaging employees in simple “power down” strategies - no investment cost necessary! During this session we highlighted opportunities to reduce energy consumption, talked about successful conservation adoption strategies, and shared outreach materials that can be used to engage workers in the campaign. Why create an Energy Efficiency/Conservation Awareness Program?
